Frugal Forest at Maitland Regional Art Gallery

Wander along a meandering path through a twilit rainforest world, or take a seat on a rock to listen to the evening chorus.  But look closely, and you’ll find that everything – down to the last leaf, and the last birdcall – has been intricately crafted from everyday stuff that was headed for the dump.

3 years in the making, over 5,000 hours of handwork, and input from scientists, artists, musicians, schools and community across the Mid North Coast….. welcome to the Frugal Forest, where nothing is wasted and every scrap is an opportunity.
