Lloyd Rees Lithographs | from the MRAG Collection

November 28 2015 — February 7 2016

The prints in this exhibition are from Lloyd Rees’ first suite of lithographs, depicting places of personal significance to the artist. The landscapes include scenes from the south coast of NSW where Rees holidayed at his home ‘Caloola’ at Werri Beach, and views from Mount Wellington and the Derwent River in Hobart, Tasmania where his son resided. Six of the seventeen lithographs created were later selected to be published as The Caloola Suite. The eight lithographs in this exhibition were donated to the MRAG Collection in 2007 by Patrick Corrigan under the Australian Government’s Cultural Gifts Program.
