African Dhuku (Headwrap) Workshop

African Headwrap/ Dhuku Workshop + Tracey Nyatsa of The Perfect Dawn
The Olive Tree market
November 25th 10am-12pm

Dhuku is the art and style of creating and wearing printed African headwraps. Whether you are a beginner, novice or just curious, don’t you worry Tracey will help will teach you the tricks of Dhuku in the fun hands on workshop! On the day you will learn 5-10 styles for different occasions-both casual and formal- and learn the mean and cultural significance of each style.

About the Workshop: Tracey will lead this hands on interactive Dhuku tying demonstration. Participants will learn:

* 5-10 Contemporary Head wrap/Dhuku styles
* How to incorporate Dhuku into your lifestyle at any time day
* Wraps for special occasions

By the time you leave the workshop Tracey will make sure that you have confidently acquired simple, elegant, sophisticated tying styles which can be adapted to each participant personal style and tastes. The Dhuku Workshop can accommodate all ages including children.

When: 10am-12pm. Saturday 18th of November

Where: The Olive Tree Market. Civic Park. Cnr King and Darby Street. Newcastle. 2300

Cost: $50 This includes the workshop and each participant takes home a

free waxed printed headwrap of their choice, usually priced at $40 individually without the workshop, as well as a handmade bracelet created by Tracey.
