Groovin: The Story of Groovin the Moo

March 7 2014 — January 1 1970

groovinPresented by Cattleyard Promotions in conjunction with the Maitland Regional Art Gallery, Groovin is a multi-media exhibition featuring graphics, objects, video, music, and writings from the archives of the Groovin’ the Moo music festivals. The visually and technically diverse collection of exhibits has been curated to allow the audience unique insights in to the artistic process that unfolds before, during and after a music festival. It also highlights the dynamic manner in which the separate worlds of festival goers, artists, staff, national media and local residents come together. Groovin’ the Moo is Australia’s only regional touring festival. For many thousands of young people in country towns across Australia, it represents their first contemporary music festival experience. For others, it’s a day when 15,000 extra people come to town.  Groovin features the work of professional artists in photography, film, graphic art and music, celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Groovin’ the Moo’s relationship with regional Australia.
