2020 Brenda Clouten Memorial Travelling Scholarships for Young Achievers in Visual Arts

Are you an artist, 30 years or younger, who lives or works in the Lower Hunter? Would you like to travel overseas to participate in an artist residency, investigate an art form or extend your artistic practice?

2 scholarships will be awarded in 2020 to support young achievers in the visual arts to undertake a program of professional development in an international context – a winner’s scholarship of $5,000 and a runner up scholarship of $3,000.

Eligible emerging artists are invited to submit an application for 2020 finalists exhibition to be held at Maitland Regional Art Gallery from 29 August – 22 November 2020.

Eligibility:
  1. Aged 30 years or under at the time of application.
  2. Live or work in the Lower Hunter (including Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Cessnock, Muswellbrook and Singleton).
  3. A graduate of or currently undertaking tertiary or vocational training, or be able to demonstrate equivalent industry experience i.e. studio practice or exhibition history.
Submissions Checklist :
  1. Artist’s statement
  2. Curriculum Vitae
  3. Travel and study proposal
  4. Digital files of 4 artworks
  5. Image list of artwork details (artist, title, year, medium, dimensions)
  6. Proof of Identity

The closing date for submissions is 29 May 2020. PLEASE NOTE: Late entries will be accepted up until 5pm Friday 5 June 2020.
