There will be animation workshops for teens and adults throughout the day and a celebratory screening of animated short films from 6.30pm.

Stop motion Animation Moving Objects
with Jane Shadbolt

Learn how to make stop motion animation and discover how to turn ordinary everyday objects into motion picture masterpieces using only a phone or tablet. This workshop will show you how to see the animated potential in everything from paper clips to cardboard boxes and how turn your ideas into mini movies using your phone camera.
Jane Shadbolt is an award-winning stop motion animator who teaches animation in the Design department at the University of Newcastle. Participants in the Stop motion workshop need a smart phone or tablet.

Introduction to Animation with Alex Scobell
This workshop will be a fun and engaging way to learn a bit about how to put together some pieces of animation and have a fun time doing it.  Alex Scobell is an animation and illustrator from the Newcastle Australia. He creates animations and currently co-authors the web comic Amy Ook
