If the artworks in the MRAG collection could speak, they would all have a story to tell. They would reveal insights of their creation, provenance and how it is they entered the collection. The works in the exhibition On the make: A Collection Story are all part of the same story. It begins before Cultural Director, Joe Eisenberg’s time at MRAG but its legacy will continue on long after he departs. It is a story of generosity, collaboration and relationships forged. It speaks of the ongoing necessity for art galleries like ours to raise funds to make significant projects possible. It is a story with Joe Eisenberg at its centre!
