13 April – 24 June 2012

Nell is a Maitland born artist living in Sydney. The title of her show, HOMETOWN GIRL HAS WET DREAM, playfully flips the gender usually ascribed to a wet dream, from a boy to a girl. Sexual, yes, but HOMETOWN GIRL HAS WET DREAM is also about the desire to go beyond the hometown, a mixed yearning for a spiritual path and a grand stage to play upon. This show aims to address the relativity of where one was born, the urgent need to leave, the lust for life, the inevitable return “home” and inescapability of who one really is.
