Screen Printing Workshop with Jones Living (Adults)

May 12, 2018 | 12:00 am

Come and join Jones Living at The Olive Tree Market to learn the addictive art of screen printing.

In this workshop you will be designing some simple patterns to print onto a calico tote bag to take home. You will learn a quick and easy screen printing techniue that you will be able to do at home. Using Eco-friendly paints and waterproof stencil paper, you will learn all you need to know to bring your illustrations to life. Taught by Diana from Jones Living, she will share her knowledge of screen printing and will have you producing designer totes in no time.

What you receive:

  • Jones Living Screen printing kit which includes;
  • 1 x screen printing frame with mesh
  • 1 x squeegee
  • 1 x pot of black fabric ink
  • 6 x sheets of waterproof paper
  • 1 x instruction manual
  • 1 x sample stencil ‘Oh Lord it’s hard to be humble’
  • 1 x roll of masking tape
  • 1 x calico cotton tote bag

What to bring on the day: A drawing of something you would like to print on to fabric. Maybe a favourite quote or somebody’s name. As a first timer, I would suggest a simple, blocky illustration to get you started. Wear old clothes as it does get messy and the paint will stain and set on your clothes. Aprons will be provided.
