The Year of the Rooster: Chinese Scrolls from the MRAG Collection
February 11, 2017 — March 25, 2017
FreeWelcoming in the Year of the Rooster, this exhibition features a selection of Chinese scrolls from the MRAG Asian Collection, created from the Ming Dynasty in the 15th Century, through to the 20th Century. The Three Perfections of painting, poetry and calligraphy are all on display in these scrolls as they depict ancient landscapes, birds and flowers, portraiture and historical narrative scenes.
Important to MRAG is the way in which these paintings demonstrate the breadth of paper as medium for art over hundreds of years.
