Facetime is an exhibition which aims to focus on Kerrie Lester’s particular strength to paint faces, those known and familiar and those dredged or dragged from her memory and her subconscious.

In Lester’s hands, the ordinary becomes more often than not the extraordinary, and, over time, she has become renowned for the artistic language that she employs to tell her stories in paint. It is unique and declares: I am a Lester art work. For many, many years she has employed stitching on her canvases and distinct black lines in her works on paper to create the same effect.

Lester’s art states its own presence. Her inventive technique and particularly her use of colour eloquently express that her art is indeed about sculpting with paint.
