Art and Heritage Tours
Experience art, explore our Collection and learn about local heritage on a tour with our art loving team members. Gain insight into art and artists, and join them as they lead group discussions about exhibitions on display and draw your attention to the superb architecture and history of Maitland Regional Art Gallery.
Guided tours take approximately 1 hour.
Tours are Free weekdays and after 3pm on weekends and are available subject to staff availability. Outside of these times costs maybe incurred.

Code Breakers & Art Trails
Visiting the Gallery with a young person aged between 4 and 14 years? We have the perfect thing for you! Our Code Breaker Activity Sheets and Art Trails have been specifically designed to get families moving through the Gallery to explore the art on display in an active and fun way.

Free Art Sunday
Free Art Sunday is our flagship program for young creatives and their families, supported by Education Partner Cleverpatch and the MRAG Members. Young audiences can join free art workshops with our Art Tutors or enjoy At-Home Activities using everyday items.
Free Art January
Supported by Education Partner Cleverpatch and the MRAG Members, Free Art January is our month long Summer program, offering a dynamic programs of workshops, talks, activities and exhibitions for all ages and abilities.
Spend your school holidays or a weekend at the Gallery, getting inspired by art and artists, learning new techniques, and socialising. Our workshops are related to exhibitions on display and include a short tour to engage a group discussion about works on display.
Journeys: Creative Connections
Journeys is a monthly facilitated workshop for people with a lived mental health experience. Hosted by our experienced Art Tutors and featuring guest artists from the exhibition program and Collection, it is great way to connect with art and each other in a supportive environment. Lunch and materials included.
Art & Dementia: Community Day & Group Visits
Art & Dementia programs are creative and socials visit of exhibitions specifically designer for people living with dementia and their carers. These visits are facilitated by a trained Art Tutor who uses our exhibitions as a trigger for conversation and self-expression and guides participants through artmaking activities in a friendly and supportive environment.
