The exhibition Nola Jones : Selected work is a celebration of form which is central to the sculptures created by Nola Jones. Backed by a 30 year artistic practise Jones is interested in the narrative, meaning and metaphor embodied in form and shape.

‘I am particularly interested in the interrelation of disparate forms and unexpected conjunctions. The forms I use are all abstract and have both biomorphic and geometric roots. ’

The sculptures created by Jones are often completely divorced from reality, being purely from her imagination but conversely some have strong connections with the real world, either being cast from familiar or ‘found’ objects either man made or found in nature. These forms are stacked, clustered and layered to make wall assemblages or vertical sculptures.

This exhibition coincides with the release of Jones latest publication titled The Sculpture of Nola Jones which documents a comprehensive coverage of Jones recent artistic practice. The exhibition Selected Work is, as the title suggests, just a taste of the artist’s oeuvre.
