Educational opportunities abound at Maitland Regional Art Gallery! Please contact the gallery to discuss your excursion. (Self-guided school visits are free.)

We can arrange workshops for your students which are designed and delivered by our art educators using current exhibitions as stimulus aligned to current curriculum outcomes. The workshop fee including all materials is $150 for 15 students or less; for class groups larger than 15, the fee is $10 per extra student.
EDUCATION MONDAYS – Exclusive school access
Despite being closed to the public on Mondays, during each school term we would be delighted to welcome teachers and students for exclusive Gallery access, workshops or self-directed activities. The Cafe will remain closed on Mondays, so there’s plenty of space indoors for your lunch or breakout sessions, in addition to our spacious Gallery Garden.

Educator Events
Throughout the year, we host a range of events specifically for teachers and educators. These include networking events, artist talks and workshops. These demonstrations provide teachers with opportunities to expand their knowledge. We invite local and national artists to present one-off special events for teachers providing valuable insight into an artist’s professional practice.

Our Visual Schedule, which includes nine picture and word cards about what you can see and do in the Gallery. This has been designed to assist visitors who may experience anxiety if visiting for the first time. This is also available at the Gallery reception desk.
