There is much for students to engage with at Maitland Regional Art Gallery! Taking students from the classroom to the art gallery provides valuable context and meaning to the work they do at school. Seeing art in person or hearing directly from the artists is a wonderful educational opportunity.

Contact Alex, our friendly Education Programs Lead +Coordinated gallery visits can be designed for students of all ages for:
- Customised guided tours
- Creative workshops
- Artist talks and activities
- Special collaborative projects
Workshops can be arranged for your students and are designed and delivered by our art educators using current exhibitions as stimulus aligned to current curriculum outcomes.
The workshop fee including all materials is $150 for 15 students or less; for class groups larger than 15, the fee is $10 per extra student. Please contact the gallery to discuss your proposed workshop.
EDUCATION MONDAYS – Exclusive school access
Despite being closed to the public on Mondays, in 2023 during each school term we would be delighted to welcome teachers and students for exclusive Gallery access, workshops or self-directed activities. The Cafe will remain closed on Mondays, so there’s plenty of space indoors for your lunch or breakout sessions, in addition to our spacious Gallery Garden.

Wednesday Studio for Senior Students
Drop-in | Free | Year 11 & 12 Students
Every Wednesday during each school term, we’re opening our workshop space from 3.00 – 5.00pm just for Year 11 & 12 students! Bring your own visual diaries, drawing materials and be inspired by the art and artists on display as you experiment or create your final work. You might even meet other students to bounce ideas off, or have an opportunity to ask questions of our friendly staff.
Check in at the Gallery Front Desk upon arrival.
