Shorelines is a series of large painting, works on paper and mixed media sculptures incorporating traditional sculptural techniques and drawings including the use of full size surfboards. Lockhart is a master draftsman with exquisite mark making techniques. This exhibition is an expressive and creative interpretation of the beach and the sea. Lockhart is a ‘mad surfer’ who has combined his love of the ocean and the surfing with his artistic passions to create Shorelines. Lockhart first exhibited at MRAG some 5 years ago and has, since that time, held a close relationship with the art gallery and the city of Maitland.
