MRAGM Print Sale

Director’s Choice, opening this Thursday 18 September from 6 – 8pm, is the 2014 Maitland Regional Art Gallery Member’s Annual fund-raising event.

This year Director’s Choice has a vibrant and dynamic collection of artwork sourced from leading artists who are represented by a number of Sydney galleries. These galleries have each generously supported MRAG and MRAGM for this very special exhibition to bring together over 300 fine art prints and artworks.

Works on paper exemplifying a diverse selection of printmaking and mixed media techniques by a range of artists including Wendy Sharpe, Salvatore Zofrea, Guy Warren, Judy Watson, Kerrie Lester, Edith Cowlishaw, Judy Cassab, David Rankin and Charles Blackman feature in this unique exhibition

The exhibition on the ground floor of the gallery is hung in Salon style, each wall a feast of many artworks vying for the audience’s attention. Opening at 6pm this Thursday 18 September and accompanied by delicious treats from MRAG café Seraphine and wine from the Hunter’s own Tyrrell’s winery this event is a must of collectors or those who would like to begin their own collection or buy that very special gift.

Our Cultural Director, Joe Eisenberg, will be available on the night to provide professional advice on artists and artworks.

Prints will be sold mostly unframed and MRAGM can coordinate discounts at local framers. Full payment must be received to secure a sale, layby is not available.As this is a fundraising exhibition, Members’ discounts will not apply. Discounts, however, are not necessary because with the Members’ support MRAG is presenting a unique opportunity to allow you to purchase prints at your price, one that everyone can afford. All artwork sold will remain on the walls until Sunday 5 October and can be collected after the exhibition closes.
