Pochoir: In the Art Factory
May 17 2013 — August 4 2013
Pochoir has a long history in France dating back to the fifteenth century. Literally pochoir means stencil. The pochoir process is a highly refined stencilling process, with some prints requiring fifty to eighty stencils. Beautiful French Fashion plates from 1912 to 1925 from the Gazette du Bon Ton and Journal des Dames et des Modes, show the elegant haute couture of the day.
