Archibald After Hours
January 28 | 5:00 pm — 8:00 pm AEDT
An event every week that begins at 5:00 pm on Friday, repeating until March 5, 2022
Join us at the Gallery for Archibald After Hours and see the most loved portraiture prize The 2021 Archibald Prize, along with A Conspicuous Object: The Maitland Hospital, Hermannsburg and Paint by Neridah Stockley, Lost Property Office by Daniel Agdag, National Art (part one) and Storylines curated by Todd Fuller and Lisa Woolfe.
Prestigious and controversial, the Archibald Prize was first awarded in 1921 following a bequest from former Art Gallery trustee JF Archibald to foster portraiture, support artists and perpetuate the memory of great Australians.
For families, there are also children’s labels, a children’s trail and an activity sheet with ideas for creating your own portraits at home.
Entry to the Gallery is free. Entry to The 2021 Archibald Prize is by ticket only.
All ages exhibition.
