Portraits from the Collection tour with Curator, Belle Beasley, for Teens

Join dancer, writer, and curator Belle Beasley on Friday April 21 at 2pm for a walk through of ‘Introductions: Portraits from the Collection,’ the exhibition she co-curated with MRAG Collections Curator Cheryl Farrell. In this exhibition tour, Belle will guide you through the behind-the-scenes of her role as co-curator, talk through the interesting stories she uncovered about the exhibition artworks, and shed some light on her experience as curatorial intern at MRAG. About Belle: Belle Beasley is a dancer, writer, choreographer, and emerging curator hailing from Newcastle. She studied classical ballet at the Dutch National Ballet Academy, and has worked with the Dutch National Ballet, Zurich Ballet, West Australian Ballet, and Catapult Dance Choreographic Hub. She has contributed articles on art and culture for Artlink, Dance Australia, the Newcastle Herald, and The Lock Up Museum. In 2022, Belle collaboratively choreographed ‘Storm Approaching Wangi,’ a new full-length dance work with Skip Willcox, James Drinkwater, and Joe Franklin for Lake Mac Arts. She was also a member of the Newcastle Art Gallery Youth Advisory Group wherein she collaboratively produced and curated the Youth 2 Collection Project. She is in her final year of a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and History at the University of Newcastle.
