Take One Choreography With Cadi McCarthy for Teens

A FREE workshop especially for teens 13 – 18, with professional choreographer Cadi Mc Carthy. Participants will focus on contemporary dance and choreographic process discovery based on the kinetic sculptures of Hannah Gartside. The workshops will focus on developing choreography that stems from the kinetic movement and aesthetic qualities of the sculptures in the exhibition Harbingers: Loie, Artemisia, Pixie, Sarah And Lilith.

Cadi McCarthy is the Director and Founder of Catapult Dance Choreographic Hub. Cadi has been actively engaged in dance as a professional dancer, choreographer, educator and director. Since she established Catapult, Cadi has received funding from Create NSW, Australia Council for the Arts, Regional Arts NSW, City of Newcastle and has partnered with: Force Majeure, Legs on the Wall, Form Dance Projects, Critical Path, The Lock-Up. Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery, Maitland Regional Art Gallery, Civic Theatre, and Tantrum Youth Arts. Catapult has received two Australian dance Awards (2015 & 2020). In 2018 Cadi was awarded the NSW Regional Fellowship. Cadi holds a Masters in Education, Diploma of Education (Secondary) and (Further Education &Training), and a BA Dance and lectures in Creative Arts (primary education) and Creative Industries at Newcastle University.
